Mohamed Birama graduated from the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Veterinary Science in 1987.

After passing the North American Veterinary Medical Examination (NAVLE) in Jan 2007,  he joined a six months course named Veterinary Skilled Training and Enhancement Program (VSTEP).

VSTEP is a joint venture of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and the Ontario Veterinary College of the University of Guelph.

He passed the Clinical Proficiency Examination (CPE) from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine ( Saskatoon, SASK) in April 2009.

He worked in small animal practice in Houston TX, Detroit MI and Thompson MB before moving to St John's NL in January 2012.
